The Woman Behind the Pithy Prose...
Updated 10/31/12
So much has changed in my life lately that I actually have to change my biography. Previously, I talked about sneaking in writing while my daughter was napping or when our part-time nanny was with us. About living in NYC and about formerly being a musical theater performer.
But all that feels so far away now. It's amazing what 2 years can do!
So what am I up to now?
Well, my daughter isn't a baby anymore. She's 3 years old, and she goes to preschool full time. I SO admire women who can stay home with their children all day, because I assure you, I am not one of them. I am grateful, though, that I get to pick her up at 3pm everyday when there are many parents who don't see their kids until almost bedtime. But that being said, my workday has a hard stop at 3pm. While many of my writing cohorts are just getting started and might write into the late evening or even the wee hours of the morning, I gave up that luxury years ago. So if my books feel few and far between, I apologize. My kid-free hours, in addition to writing, have recently been spent trying to set up our new home.
New home?? Why, yes...we have a new home. In September of 2012, we finally traded our urban digs in Jersey City, NJ (just outside NYC, for those who are curious) for sunshine and sandy beaches. I really thought I was going to be SO inspired once we moved here, but the truth is, I'm finding it hard to concentrate. There is SO MUCH TO DO! Our new town and surrounding areas are rife with restaurants, shopping and family fun...not to mention the beach! Stores I didn't previously have easy access to (Marshalls and TJ Maxx, among others) are practically across the street from us. And seriously, people...if you don't go on a regular basis, you might miss something fantastic!! Oh, and don't forget about Disney World! Just a short 2.5 hour drive from us means it's becoming our home away from home.
So again, I offer my sincerest apologies for not being as prolific as I once was. I promise there are things in the works, and as soon as I can get my head on straight, I'll be back in the swing of things.
What's next?
The Stage Bride just hit the virtual shelves, so you can all find out if Thomas Barclay gets his happily ever after :)
My first audiobook, A Gentleman Never Tells, came out in January, and More than a Governess is now available as well!
I'm working feverishly on my contemporary chicklit novel, The Matchbaker, (3 years in the works already!), and plan to release it this summer.
And finally, look for yet another anthology this fall from me and my cohorts! Self-proclaimed bachelor Rowan Findley, the roguish cousin of Patience Findley from The Betting Season, might just have to settle down after all ;)
I love, love, love to hear from fans, so please don't hesitate to drop me line!
Thanks for visiting!
Love,
Jerrica
